Busy in Basel

I arrived back in Basel in time for Flynn's 6th birthday. It was celebrated several times, involving Adrianne with multiple cake making. This fitted in nicely with the general chaos of moving house which was going on at the same time.

There was the cake at home, the cakes for his class and finally the cake for the party, held at a play area in Germany

That's Blake's lunch sorted. Meanwhile Flynn and Benjy hoon round, practising for outings to come when they sneak out with their friends. Flynn was worrying good, Benjy worryingly laid back.

It was getting cold in Basel, and the first snow arrived (time for me to move on)

It is beautiful though. Adrianne took part in a night time race around the city which was lovely. First the warm up (Adrianne is in the white hat)

 Then the race that looped around the city.

Finally, after a huge amount of work over a month or so, the move from their rented house to their own house. They had repainted throughout inside and sorted the flooring out, but the kitchen was being gutted and refitted. It's a lovely house, about 10 minutes walk from where they were with four floors and lots of room including a good garden.

Back garden. It's a great property and lucky that they found it as houses in the area are hard to come by.
