Benjy turned three recently. Blake was away so it was a quiet day with the party still to come. However, there were, of course, presents and a cake (chocolate banana with smarties and gummi bears in case the cousins were wondering)
Serious cake cutting - how can I get the most lollies? (Flynn looks concerned.) We spent the afternoon at the zoo, a favourite place for Benjy who loves crocodiles, gorillas and elephants particularly.Benjy takes exception to the way his peanut butter sandwich is looking at him.
I spend a bit of time in the little villages over the border in France. This is my favourite, Huningue. I was hoping to get an apartment there, but have been beaten by bureaucracy.
Flynn loves soccer, chasing down the ball, right of centre
There are so many lovely villages around here to explore. On Monday it was a religious public holiday and Blake was back from Edinburgh and London. We set out (before it rained) on bikes, chariot and running and found Arlesheim, about 10km away. There was a great little playground (spot the castle)
and an excellent old fashioned ride-on horse
The town centre was pretty as a picture and had a coffee shop open (not a given here on a holiday)
Lovely!
