Christmas starts in Ponsonby with the opening of the lights on Franklyn Road, where residents have been putting on good displays for years. This year the celebrity opener was Kim Dotcom, and Sam was right in for a photo
Sam does the lighting for one of the bigger houses on the road and it was by far the best, of course
Getting home in the dark was a good opportunity to pull out some sparklers to finish off the celebrations
Owen was more interested in the dancers and carol singers and band and clowns and had no trouble staying awake two hours longer than usual
