Cornwall

I spent 8 days with my Auntie Win in Cornwall. She lives near Truro in the picturesque, rural village of Perranwell.

I went down by train and rented a car and had a great time visiting some of the beautiful places in that area. I did a lot of walking along the cliffs and beaches

St Michael's Mount was stunning

You can walk over there until about half-tide, when boats take over the job. There's an old monastery on the top

Perranporth on the north coast had a nice beach and was very Doc Martin (it's actually filmed a bit north of here)

Prussia Cove, an old smugglers' haunt where Ladies in Lavender was filmed, is beautiful. It was hard to find, down an unmarked, narrow, winding lane, followed by a long steep scramble

Falmouth was a lively place and had some nice beaches. The sun even shone for two days. Summer.

Porthleven was a typical Cornish fishing village with some nice guest houses and a good pub. Local specialities are Cornish pasties and cream teas, both excellent.
