Doing London

On Saturday Bec and I took Daisy and Zach into London to visit a friend who has just had a baby. Being the weekend there were engineering works on the Underground and we were also constrained by the fact that with the pushchair we needed to use stations that have a lift. So first change was at Stratford, where the Olympics are going to be held. There's predictably a huge amount of impressive looking construction going on around there. We ended up taking a bit of a tortuous route to get to Waterloo, but it did include a ride in a doubledecker bus, which Daisy had been keen to do. I sat up front on the top deck with her and we both loved it. We went right across London...

before heading to Clapham Junction and the new baby. A really good day! Bec and the children left early this morning for Dubai and the day has been very quiet. It was a good break for them and lovely for me - thanks to the O'Dowds for providing the accommodation. I don't have much of a chance to get bored with my own company though - Blake is staying with a friend in London for a few days from Thursday and the O'Dowds will be back on Saturday.
