Auntie Win’s 90th birthday was a great reason to make the trek down to Cornwall. As usual, Sue and I travelled together, for the first time by train. It took about 5 hours and was fine. We were picked up at Perranwell, a small rural station in Win’s village, and taken to the party venue, a conference centre not far away. It was really good to catch up with so many relatives from my father’s side of the family. My cousins Rob, Gill and Pete, and Jenny, were there with husbands and wives and many of their children with their children, so there were a lot of people. 
Win is amazing for 90 and danced and enjoyed herself until after midnight.
We stayed at the venue that night and the next day moved in with Win, where Gill and Paul were also staying. It was hardly a matter of recovering as the place was full of family calling to say goodbye. On Monday Win had an open home and we helped her entertain the many local friends who called all afternoon. No time to catch up then either as Win took a group of us out to dinner at the lovely pub over the road that night. On Tuesday Sue and I got ourselves back to London, which didn’t seem terribly inviting. Great weekend, thanks Win!
