Easter isn’t celebrated in Dubai, hardly surprisingly, but the Thursday before what would have been Good Friday was a public holiday in honour of Prophet Mohammed’s birthday, making a long weekend, as Friday and Saturday are the weekend here. Whatever. On Thursday we went on a shopping expedition to Festival City, yet another really nice mall. We lunched at a very good Lebanese restaurant. This mall featured a canal, complete with tourist boats and restaurants along the banks. 
The Dubai ANZA group celebrated Easter with an Easter egg hunt in one of the parks on Friday, which was fun. Daisy had a great time stuffing in as much chocolate as she could and playing with her friends. Then we had another really good lunch out at a random café. We had the place entirely to ourselves so had great service. The food was fabulous with a local flavour. One of the dishes was a chilled mixed fresh date platter which was exceptionally delicious. Daisy managed to charm the staff as usual and got lots more chocolate. Yum yum.
As usual she made plenty of new friends while we were out. Anyone in sight is fair game but everyone swoops on her, men and women. She gets picked up and kissed and cuddled by all and sundry and has no concept of stranger danger. Many of the men have come here to make some money and haven't seen their own children for a long time.
Tonight’s meal was a barbie at the home of the friends we went away with last weekend, at the foot of the huge Burj Dubai building. They had parents visiting too, as did one of the other guests, so it was a mixed group and very nice.
